Transitions Admissions

Transitions Admissions

Students are at the heart of the Transitions experience, which is why we work hard to make sure that every applicant is a great fit for the program they choose. Families can apply to various transition programs, including full-year programs, the Summer Immersion Experience, or mini-camps. Each transitions program application is thoroughly reviewed for eligibility and commitment to success.

Universally designed, Transitions is able to support students with accessibility needs and those who may have some medical needs. In such cases, our admissions staff will confer with our medical director to determine which supports are needed.

Transitions Program Application

Students and parents looking for a supportive environment to help students learn independent living skills and prepare for college life may want to learn more about applying to Transitions. The application process starts with reaching out to us. Prospective applicants can request information for themselves or their child before starting the application process.

If there is a good match, we will schedule an interview with an advisor and schedule a visit to our Mayfield and Albany, New York, campuses to help applicants decide whether to submit a formal application. Applications for the Summer Immersion Experience or camp programs can be submitted without the information request or campus tour.

Program Eligibility

To ensure program eligibility, applicants to Transitions programs should have a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, nonverbal learning disabilities, or other learning differences and be younger than 27 years old.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition for the full-year and camp applicants includes room and board, transportation, and more. Help with tuition and financial aid available to applicants may be found through sources, such as financial aid sources for college students and public funding, if applicable.

Visits to the Transitions campus are encouraged, as are in-person interviews. The Transitions program is located on the campus of the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts in Mayfield, NY.
