Why Choose Mayfield?
Transitions Mayfield: A Place to Grow, Create, and Belong
Opened: 2015
Located in the scenic foothills of the Adirondacks, Transitions Mayfield offers a warm, close-knit environment ideal for students who thrive with individualized attention and a strong sense of community—both on campus, college and within the surrounding towns.
A Personalized Student Experience: Mayfield is a great fit for students seeking a quieter, more personalized setting where they can build independence at their own pace. Through our partnership with SUNY Fulton-Montgomery Community College, students can explore academic goals with the support they need while also enjoying meaningful opportunities in the surrounding towns, from volunteer work to part-time jobs and recreational experiences.
Unique to Mayfield: Mayfield is the only Transitions campus that offers Imagine, a creative arts-focused track where students can explore music, visual arts, performance, and more. It is also home to Momentum, a supportive track designed specifically for non-traditional students who may be starting later or taking a different path toward independence.
Inspiring Setting: Set on a beautiful 600-acre property, the Mayfield campus offers access to hiking trails, skiing, and year-round outdoor activities. The on-site Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts provides a vibrant, inclusive space for students to take classes, showcase their talents, and gain valuable job experience in the arts.
Housing: Students live in comfortable, supervised residences in nearby Johnstown, just a short drive from the main campus. These home-style living spaces offer a balance of independence and support, with easy access to local shops, restaurants, and community amenities.
